Dr Rui A. Gonçalves

Dr. Rui A. Gonçalves is a Lecturer and Assistant Chair (Student Development) at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. An active member of the American Chemical Society (ACS) since 2018, Dr. Gonçalves has contributed to the ACS community through various leadership roles, including Secretary of the International Chemical Sciences Chapter of the ACS in Singapore (2023–2025) and Faculty Advisor for the ACS International Student Chapter at NTU (2025-present). Dr. Gonçalves has also chaired the ACS Singapore Youth Challenge (2025) and served as Guest Editor for a Virtual Special Issue on Teaching Innovation in Materials Science and Engineering Design in the Journal of Chemical Education (2024–2025). With a research focus on self-assembly systems, polymers, and interfacial phenomena, Dr. Gonçalves is committed to advancing chemical education and fostering international collaboration within the ACS network.
