Dr Rochelle Silva

Secretary (2026/27)

Dr Rochelle Silva is a Research Fellow at Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute (NEWRI), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, with experience in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, and analytical chemistry. Her work bridges science and engineering, with a focus on sustainable waste management, electrochemical sensing technologies, and material characterisation. She holds a PhD from the Interdisciplinary Graduate School of NTU and a bachelor's degree in Chemical & Process Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. Rochelle has led and contributed to collaborative projects with government agencies, such as the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) and Public Utilities Board (PUB), and industry partners, including Bluefield Renewable Energy Pte. Ltd.


Rochelle joined the ACS Singapore Chapter in 2025 as a volunteer for the ACS Singapore Youth Challenge. She is passionate about creating sustainable impact through research, innovation, & collaboration.
